This, sadly, is what is left of the old Polaroid Corporation facility in Waltham, MA. After years of neglect, this 120 acre site on the historic Route 128 high-tech highway has been purchased for $40 million. Just what Massachusetts needs, more shopping space. The first phase is due to be completed in 2013.

I walked the grounds, hoping maybe I could find some good Polaroid film, or some empty cartridges, or some of Dr. Land’s designs. No such luck. But, what a truly depressing sight.
